Background story
Vero George is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Lifestyle Intervention As Medicine (LIAM).
Vero’s passion and empathetic nature motivated her to pursue a career in the medical field to provide quality care for people in underserved communities.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science in Family Health Nursing from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) clinical degree at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to develop an advanced understanding of delivering high-quality health care that improves patient outcomes.
Vero has over 17 years of nursing and nurse practitioner experience in medical/surgical intensive care unit, burn intensive care unit, coronary care unit, inpatient and ER Psychiatric units, and primary care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Vero’s joy as a primary care provider is having the opportunity to care for people across their lifespan. She believes in a patient-centered, collaborative approach to medicine and providing individualized treatment for every patient to meet his/her specific need, value, and belief. S
he feels communication, empathy, and establishing a trusting relationship are key and are achieved through active listening and educating the patient on their health and the disease process.
Vero is passionate about encouraging and educating patients to practice lifestyle changes as well as involvement in their treatment plans.
Vero’s use of lifestyle modification and clinical experience enable her patients to achieve favorable health outcome. She gladly welcomes all patients to LIAM and looks forward to providing their primary care needs.
